Virtual Police (Stage 1)

"It was great"

date: December 30, 2005

But you can make it better. If this is your first 3d work, i applaud you, 3d is damn hard to create. As for the improvements, for stage 2, i'd like to have some more coding like this:
Duck behind object, to aviod bullets, of you can.
Reload only after 6 bullets are gone. Otherwise you can tap space while tapping fire to never have to reload.
Reload to take some time (ducking would be nice here :D)
Anyways, onto the game, the gameplay was great, and there was also a little humor remembering the original unnessisary spining and crounching in all the original (virtua cop, time crisis 1+2+3)
Just for future reference, spend more time on the cutscene, it is a nice part of the movie, so you have to take extra special care with the graphics (and that means hand tweening! :P)

Anyways, it was a fantastic game, but better characters (if possible) would be awesome!

Otherwise, i loved it!

Author's Response:

Hmm... Well the reloading is like other shooters. Yeah, cutscenes were a pain to do so I kinda skimped on them. And I'll probably improve the graphics next time.

The Ma$sAcre 2: Revenge

"GREAT"

date: December 29, 2005

But the sound let it down a bit, on some parts the dialogue just didn't fit the song, however the army war part, was incedible.
As always, i loved the work by Jazza, this particular use of blur in flash 8 in this collab was great.
And there were lots of other cool grusome parts that i forgot right about now.
The 3d weapon guy (forgotten his name in the credits) made this even better.
A wonderful collab, i'd love to join the next one.

Revenge is a great theme, and reminds me of the fantastic works of Quentin Tarantino.

GlenK's Flash Tutorial

"A nice tutorial"

date: December 29, 2005

The details inside it were good. Your flash skills are good. However you need to work on presentation more, the next and menu buttons didn't look nice at all, in fact it made it look amaturish.
Work on the quality of presentation because the users here on NG are attracted to pictures not text.
A nice tip for back and forward buttons is to use the character map from the accessories, find a font with a good right and left arrow (windings has a use!!!) and copy and paste into flash, then press ctrl+b to break it up and then fill and edit the graphic.#
Apart from that, the content was good, the printscreen method of presentation is great, a lot of tutorials are missing out on it nowadays. Prehaps change the arrows (pointing out the layers/frames) into the line tool.
Otherwise some good work.

Snowball Fight!

"The best Armor Game submission so far!"

submission: Snowball Fight!
date: December 27, 2005

Very nice character graphics by Goldsickle, it really gave it a professional touch (also, japanese girl manga is nice eye candy).
Game was great, map editor must of taken you ages, contols were cool the way you could switch between.
Instuctions must of taken a while to make, looks really nice.
In game graphics could of been slightly nicer, but the Goldsickle manga made it not matter.
Improvements for next version,
Have a showdown option, playing a random levels, making the character ratio harder every time.

This game was great, please keep it up.

S.M.B.3 Bloopers

"Hmm"

submission: S.M.B.3 Bloopers

Didn't float my boat, the humor wasn't so great. But i did chuckle when the bleeps came.
However, it was lovely sprite work and i presume you used a v-cam. And the scene select was genious.
And the use of sound was perfect.
Congrats.
The humor otherwise was too old for me.

Keep it up,
Your good =D
Congrats on the daily 1st i gave you a 4/5

Meaning Of Life

"Very funny"

submission: Meaning Of Life

But too short, the animation and graphics were nice though. And the audio was funny as hell, and reminded me of Rex-the-Runt.
Anyways, i'll go laugh my ass off now.
Bye

B.Y.O.B. Collab

"This collaboration could of been so much better"

submission: B.Y.O.B. Collab
date: December 13, 2005

This collaboration could of been so much better, but it was half-assed :(

The whole project took 7 months when it was meant to talke about 2-3. The organisation of this was shocking!
What had happened is that you didn't organise it will enough and people did the lines multiple times, making a lot of cuts nessesary. There was a lot of flash that i saw in the making that i saw didn't make the cut.
And things got put into the collab that were not meant to go in...
Things like cats here and there! And the preloader becoming a part of the flash, things like the introduction.
Can you honestly not think of a better way to animate text for the intro?
It really let the flash down.
Also, the ending was placed too fast, there was a flicker of text that no-one can read because it goes too fast...
However there are a few animator that i'd like to point out from the collab:
Dr Beast - He really needs to work on the mouth movement, it was a poor blob attempt :(, You should have preset mouths for different sounds, then transform them so they look different, but the key to mouthmovement is having it change on <b>every</b> frame.
Master-Fury, your work in this collab was great, those snippets were well animated and well shaded. However, not in this submission, but in ArmorDude, you should work no optimising your work, because not everyone has a 3Ghz+ computer!
Lynn_Scottish, your work rocks and i love you!
Anyways, the thing was quickly finished, and the menu was no exception. You didn't even have the decenty to email people for their information so you could have the authors section in the collab. Your just stealing a lot of glory, and not giving anything in return :(
I hope this review has been constructive.

Zelda - Seeds of Darkness

"Ingenious"

date: December 13, 2005

It doesn't seem to lag too much for me, although i can't seem to get to the final boss.
It's a great remake of Zelda and brings me back memories, this is a GREAT flash. I'll have a look at the source code in my spare time, but i kinda found out your french throught it!
Anyways, this is fantasic, and it is much better than our other Zelda game on here (Zelda and the lampshade of no significance).
It didn't bother me that it was using sprites because they were of good quality and without it this version would of taken you twice as long to build.
I especialy liked the orignial screen setting and controls, so it was all fimiliar, so i could just pick up and play like the original.
Unfortunaty i cannot defeat the boss :( Because i cannot find him...
You should have a website with a guide and the projector (exe) file of the game. So we can play with (hopefully) less lag, and all the time :)
Im sure now the source code is out, people will finish your story and the game.

Congratulations!

Down At Juice Bar

"Nice..."

submission: Down At Juice Bar
date: December 10, 2005

Not as good as the first two, but it is really nice. The sound made by you i enjoyed, but it was a little toned up. However the background art has improved in this a lot! Pretty funny, but the last one was better (Bad Guy's go to Hell). You've got yourself a nice site up now for your animations, it's looking nice. When is the next installment coming?
